How do extracurricular factors (socioeconomic + personal) influence the risk of infection in synthetic versus. nonsynthetic grafts?

Abstract

This project looks at how different factors affect infection risk in bone grafts, comparing synthetic and non-synthetic types. It focuses on how things like income, access to healthcare, stress, and lifestyle choices can influence how well a graft heals. Extracurricular factors such as where the graft was created/taken from are also taken into consideration - were they made in safe, sterile conditions? Were the graft(s) screened for viruses beforehand? If so, was the screening hastily done or done with precision? The student is exploring whether healthy habits and good medical access make people more compatible with certain graft types. By reviewing scientific studies, the project aims to understand what affects graft success and how these factors might guide safer, fairer medical treatments in the future.
