Abstract

This paper examines the effects of climate change on the habitat suitability for the Siamese Crocodiles. Climate change is currently rapidly progressing in severity and is impacting various aspects of our ecosystem. These crocodiles are currently facing various problems from saltwater inundation to habitat loss to poaching. This article uses evidence and data from research papers and uses Species Distribution Modeling to explain and demonstrate the change in the Siamese Crocodile’s suitable habitat range. SDM modeling recognizes patterns in the spatial and temporal occurrences of these crocodiles to predict future occurrences. These crocodiles, along with many other species, will see a decrease in their suitable habitat range as time goes by; signifying the dangers that climate change poses and the need for immediate solutions.
