Abstract

Ovarian cancer is something many women throughout the world struggle with. Among the different types of ovarian cancer, epithelial ovarian cancer (EOC) constitutes the majority. EOC specifically has a high recurrence rate hence many patients will often undergo an oophorectomy which is surgical removal of the ovaries. Immunotherapies in EOC can make a significant impact on women who wish to not undergo a major surgery or, especially for younger women, want to preserve their fertility, due to it's potential for long lasting results. In this review paper we will discuss immunotherapy options for patients with epithelial ovarian cancer and ongoing trials for developing immunotherapies for EOC.
