Abstract

Activity on social media has significantly grown over the past 20 years, allowing for people to create, and share content, build communities, and even construct a digital career. With the monetization of social media platforms such as Youtube, or Instagram, parents are able to create content focused on their experiences of having a child, and gain profit.  In this niche, there are sub categories in which parents create content in which the child is the main focus. This has generated concerns regarding how this presence, and attention, has impacted, or will impact the children, and the parents of these accounts. In this paper, I explore the extent to which constant content creation on social media affects mental health, happiness, and overall well-being of these creators, and their parents.
