Abstract

This paper analyzes public response to the use of artificial intelligence (AI) by artists. In particular, the researchers explore how audiences respond to artists who use AI tools compared to artists who create their work without AI by examining social media posts. Reviewing 4 posts on Instagram and YouTube under hashtags such as #AIart and #digitalpainting, researchers compare comments, likes, and other forms of engagement to understand how people react to AI-generated art versus traditional art. As people might know, AI has been very engaged in our life, it certainly played a role in the art world. Therefore, by doing this research, the researchers hope to get an overall result of how much AI is affecting people's acceptance in art. Instead of taking a stance, the goal of this project is to help the public to understand what these differences in engagement reveal about how audiences perceive creativity, originality, and artistic value in the age of AI. At the end the result suggested that people would prefer art works created by a non-AI artist more because audiences tend to connect self feelings to art.
