Hydrogen fuel cell technology is an alternative solution for potential clean energy systems that may be adopted in the near future or are currently being adopted. The alternative fuel is recognized as a clean and renewable energy source, meaning that its energy originates from and returns back to the natural environment with relatively minimal recorded exergy destruction, net zero carbon emissions, and little to no pollution. As is the case with most alternative energies however, current methods of capturing or producing hydrogen and converting it to usable electrical or mechanical energy are highly inefficient and incapable of meeting energy needs on a global scale. My research aims to put focus on inefficiencies in the design of the current hydrogen fuel cell model, which has the potential to solve prominent global issues such as pollution, carbon emissions, climate change, and energy renewability, if adopted effectively.
