The paper explores the origins and development of formal education, providing a historical perspective on how structured learning systems emerged and evolved. It elaborates on the role of education in shaping young minds, particularly in terms of sensitivity to social, environmental, and ethical issues. It focuses on the importance of educational institutions in aiding children to grow into responsible and aware citizens.
In addition, the paper discusses the incorporation of sustainability into the curriculum. It highlights the positive outcomes of doing so and suggests practical strategies that can be inculcated by educational institutions in today’s time.
